Cancer Research Interest
- Disease Site Focus: Thoracic/ Lung
- Research Focus Area: Treatment, Health Disparities, Prevention
- Type of Research: Population Sciences, Clinical
- Research Keywords: Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors, Lung Cancer, Lung cancer screening, Cardiotoxicity, APCD
- Research Interest Statement: My dissertation project uses population-based state cancer registry data linked to multi-payer medical and pharmacy claims to examine risk of Cardiotoxicity among lung cancer patients, specifically in those receiving Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). I will be using a longitudinal study design to compare risk of cardiotoxic events among lung cancer patients receiving various classes of these drugs as well as a comparison in those receiving ICIs with or without concurrent radiation. In addition, my research will assess disparities in lung cancer screening and how these disparities translate into short term adverse outcomes following lung cancer treatment.
