Cancer Research Interest
- Disease Site Focus: No Specific Disease Site
- Research Focus Area: Prevention, Treatment
- Type of Research: Translational
- Research Keywords: Chemotherapy induced lymphatic dysfunction
- Research Interest Statement: Lymphedema is the accumulation of lymph in the interstitial tissue space. Breast cancer patients are in higher risk of developing lymphedema. Several studies showed that doxorubicin, one of the cornerstone therapies for the treatment of breast cancer, develops lymphedema. My research is focused on the identification of novel drug candidates and the evaluation of the therapy to prevent the lymphatic dysfunction induced by the chemotherapy drug doxorubicin.
