Cancer Research Interest
- Disease Site Focus: Breast, Pediatric Oncology
- Research Focus Area: Treatment, Carcinogenesis
- Type of Research: Basic, Translational
- Research Keywords: Pathophysiology, Molecular Metabolism, Cell differentiation, Pluripotent stem cells, Tissue fibrosis, Chemotherapy induced heart failure
- Research Interest Statement: Cancer and its treatment are closely related to cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome. My acquired training in these fields has allowed me to establish a research program that evaluates and dissects underlying causes of these conditions in healthy and cancer patients. The MREA award for my lab provided the foundation for us to delve into chemotherapy-induced heart failure studies directly. We use state of the art 3D bioprinting and human iPSC-differentiated cells to answer our research questions.
