• Research Interest Statement: I bring important analytical expertise to research projects at UAMS. I am a Professor at the Department of Biostatistics. Before joining UAMS, I worked at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Miami, Tisch Cancer Institute at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and UTHealth Houston for over 14 years. I have extensive experience conducting statistical analysis for various areas: statistical methods applied to clinical trials and epidemiologic studies related to cancer, novel approaches to statistical design and analysis of phase I and phase II clinical trials, survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, Bayesian inference, and high-dimensional data analysis. My collaboration with the PIs and numerous clinicians and research scientists spans clinical trials, basic-science research and translational investigations. My service to the Cancer Center currently includes membership on the Protocol Review Committee. I have a long track record of collaboration with investigators in the Radiation Oncology, Urology, Neurology, Medical Oncology, and Radiology as well as basic scientists. In this project, I will contribute with statistical analysis of the tasks identified in the specific aims. I have taught a core biostatistics course for public health graduate students for six years at University of Miami and advised undergraduate and graduate students. I have provided statistical lectures/tutorials/grant writing workshop for residents and fellows at the University of Miami, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and UTHealth Houston McGovern Medical School.
