Cancer Research Interest
- Disease Site Focus: Thoracic/ Lung
- Research Focus Area: Carcinogenesis, Treatment
- Type of Research: Basic
- Research Keywords: Metastasis, Cell-adhesion
- Research Interest Statement: My research focuses on Rnd3, an atypical Rho GTPase, and its role in lung cancer progression. Lung adenocarcinomca patient with low level of Rnd3 exhibits a significantly higher chance of survival. Our lab preliminary data suggests that Rnd3 regulate metastatic hallmarks independently from the canonical RhoA-ROCK1 pathway. My project involving characterizing this novel pathway by using site-directed mutagenesis on Rnd3 fusion constructs and accessing the effect of Rnd3 loss on cancer progression with in vivo mouse model.
