Research Interest Statement: I have a long history of involvement with cancer research. I was on the faculty in biostatistics at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for many years. I have continued to be involved as a reviewer both locally and nationally for cancer manuscripts, protocols and grant applications. I have served on multiple site visit teams for new and renewal applications for NCI Cancer Center designation. I served a full 4-year term on the NIH Clinical Oncology Study Section (CONC) and have served as an ad hoc member on multiple other cancer related NIH review panels. I served several years on the UAMS Cancer Institute Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee. Currently as Chair of the Department of Biostatistics, I frequently troubleshoot with other members of the Biostatistics Department with respect to design and analysis aspects of their cancer related research projects. For example, although i am not formally part of the submission of the U54 application for Cancer Control Research in Persistent Poverty Areas (PI- McElfish), I have been extensively involved in the drafting and review of the Research and Methods Core section.
