- Research Interest Statement: Ramey Moore, PhD. Ramey Moore is an assistant professor in the Office of Community Health and Research at UAMS Northwest. Dr. Moore holds a doctorate in anthropology with an emphasis on qualitative medical and environmental anthropology. He has conducted research in Arkansas with the Marshallese and Hispanic communities, on environmental activism in the Ozarks, and medical adherence in Kazakhstan. These projects have covered the social context of health and health care, such as in understanding hesitant adoption of vaccines, inequalities in access to health care, and health-seeking behaviors in cultural context. Future research will focus on hesitant adoption of the HPV vaccine, with the ultimate goal of increasing HPV vaccine uptake and reducing incidences of cancer caused by HPV. Dr. Moore has extensive research experience with qualitative research methods, rapid ethnography, and is currently building experience in implementation science. It is Dr. Moore’s goal to improve healthcare access for all communities in the United States, and to build a more just, inclusive, and equitable world.
