Cancer Research Interest
- Disease Site Focus: No Specific Disease Site
- Research Focus Area: Detection, Informatics, Diagnosis/ Prognosis, Carcinogenesis, Treatment, Health Disparities
- Type of Research: Basic, Clinical
- Research Keywords: cancer metabolism, dermatology, optical imaging
- Research Interest Statement: My overall research interests are in developing and utilizing non-invasive quantitative optical methods to characterize the spatiotemporal patterns of disease progression and tissue repair processes. My research lab is currently utilizing label-free multiphoton microscopy to obtain high-resolution 3D images of cell metabolism and extracellular matrix organization. We also develop and implement a variety of advanced image analysis techniques to characterize the organization of the extracellular matrix, inter-cellular arrangement and morphology, as well as subcellular organelle distributions within cells. We are interested in applying these imaging and analysis techniques to various collaborative cancer research projects.
