Cancer Research Interest
- Disease Site Focus: Cutaneous/Melanoma
- Research Focus Area: Treatment
- Type of Research: Basic
- Research Interest Statement: I specialize in epigenetics, with a focus on how environmental factors linked to cancer affect DNA and histone methylation. My project investigates how the supply and metabolism of the essential amino acid and methyl donor methionine modulates cancer susceptibility and development. My expertise covers the absorption, processing, and utilization of methyl groups, as well as epigenetic changes associated with cancer. My current project studies the mechanism behind methionine dependence in cancer, and the application of dietary methionine restriction to the treatment of metastatic melanoma.
